Visit the châteaux of the Loire from the campsite

The perfect base for exploring the châteaux of the Loire

The Domaine de l'Etang campsite makes the perfect starting point to explore the châteaux of the Loire Valley, including Saumur, Brézé, Serrant, le Plessis-Bourré, Brissac, Azay le Rideau, Ussé, Villandry, Angers, and dozens of other sites along the way. Anjou is home to around 1,200 châteaux and large residences dating from a range of different periods. Visitors will discover fortifications, underground passages and galleries, keeps, guardrooms, pigeon lofts, richly furnished rooms, gilded ceilings, and frescoes. Anjou’s troglodytic sites are also home to miles of underground galleries where people have built entire villages, cellars and mushroom beds - and some of them are open to visitors!
